Management of natural capital
Committed to the agricultural traditions of the region and the environment, the Foundation promotes the conservation, restoration and rehabilitation of the historical hydraulic works of its property. In addition, through the MountainGreen project" conservation and careful restoration with native species from the mountain of the Peñas de Béjar estate is actively encouraged because it is one of the main habitats of endemic species representative of the biodiversity of the Region of Murcia.
MountainGreen, ecological restoration of the mountain
MountainGreen it is a non-profit project that was born in order to restore, maintain and conserve forest ecosystems in the Region of Murcia.
The objective is to restore the ecosystems lost in the depopulated mountains through custom-made reforestation (eco-design-restoration), thus curbing the desertification and erosion that suffer from the Sierras Murcia and recovering the water resources, improving the climate, restoring environmental balance...
With restoration projects, MountainGreen contributes to the protection of the environment and climate in Spain. Restoration of mountains through reforestation with the appropriate vegetation, fauna and microorganisms can compensate for CO2 emissions due to their fixation on organic matter.
